On the morning of May 8, 2025, Mr. Tran Viet Thien — Vice Rector of Khanh Hoa University — chaired a reception for the delegation from the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, which included Ms. Maida Besic — English Language Specialist, and Ms. Ngoc Quach — Bilateral Educational Program Coordinator. The delegation visited and provided English training for lecturers and students at Khanh Hoa University.
Also attending the reception were Mr. Phan Duc Ngai — Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Ms. Do Thi Thu Hue — Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Mr. Huynh Kim Bao — Deputy Dean and Head of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy — Head of the English Language Training Program, Faculty of Foreign Languages; along with English lecturers and 200 students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages who participated in the training.
In his welcome remarks, Mr. Tran Viet Thien — Vice Rector — warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced an overview of Khanh Hoa University, its training programs, and fields of interest. He expressed the university’s desire to connect, exchange, and collaborate with universities in the United States. In line with the trends, potential, and development needs, Khanh Hoa University values expanding and strengthening connections with agencies, organizations, enterprises, and especially prestigious universities worldwide, including those in the United States. Currently, the university has signed MOUs and effectively implemented cooperation agreements with foreign partners such as Daegu National University of Education (South Korea), British University Vietnam, and EESAB European Academy of Art in Brittany (France), and is also providing training for international students from Laos, Vanuatu, and more. These are valuable opportunities for Khanh Hoa University to learn, absorb, and selectively apply experiences for international integration and development, aiming to enhance governance capacity and improve training and research quality to meet the demand for high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s industrialization and modernization.
On behalf of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Maida Besic — English Language Specialist — expressed her pleasure to visit and work with Khanh Hoa University, and sincerely thanked the university’s leadership for their warm and respectful welcome. Ms. Ngoc Quach — Bilateral Educational Program Coordinator — also thanked the university for its hospitality and shared the partner’s mission to promote and connect development programs in multiple fields, including education and culture, thereby strengthening cooperative relations not only with Vietnam — a comprehensive strategic partner of the United States — but also globally. The year 2025 marks an important milestone in the memorable 30-year journey of diplomatic relations between the United States and Vietnam. Both sides hoped that this exchange would be an opportunity to better understand each other’s information and needs, supporting cooperation, especially in the fields of education and culture.

In a spirit of mutual understanding and respect, both sides acknowledged and shared interests and directions to continue fostering and developing cooperative relations in training and scientific research, as well as promoting cultural and language exchanges in the context of globalization. Khanh Hoa University assigned Mr. Phan Duc Ngai — Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation — to maintain contact and exchanges with Ms. Ngoc Quach — Bilateral Educational Program Coordinator — to further concretize the contents of this meeting, strengthen connections, exchanges, and seek opportunities for future cooperation with U.S. universities.
Following the courtesy meeting was an English training and information-sharing session for Khanh Hoa University lecturers and students conducted by Ms. Maida Besic — English Language Specialist — at Lecture Hall 1. The session focused on training English essay writing skills, useful websites, financial aid options, and scholarship hunting strategies. Under the guidance of Ms. Maida Besic and Ms. Ngoc Quach, the workshop received active participation and high appreciation from the lecturers and students. The participants expressed their satisfaction with the practical and in-depth content of the training, feeling well-equipped with useful tools and methods to apply in their teaching and learning. It also introduced students to financial aid options and scholarship hunting strategies, which was a valuable occasion for interested students.
