On the morning of January 15th, 2026, University of Khanh Hoa (UKH) solemnly organized the International Scientific Conference on “Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education and Scientific Research” at Lecture Hall 1, attracting the participation of over 170 local and international scientists, experts, and education managers.
The conference was co-organized by University of Khanh Hoa and Daegu National University of Education (DNUE), Republic of Korea, aiming to effectively implement key Central Resolutions on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, education and training, and international integration in the new context. The event also contributed to concretizing the policies and action plans of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee in the fields of science, technology, and education.
The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee; and Prof. Bae Sang-Sik, President of Daegu National University of Education. Representing Khanh Hoa University were Mr. Van Ngoc Sen, Party Secretary; Dr. Phan Phien, President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Dinh Loc, Vice President, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies, representatives from universities and colleges nationwide, central and local media agencies, and a large number of lecturers, doctoral candidates, and young researchers.

In his opening address, Dr. Phan Phien, President of Khanh Hoa University, warmly welcomed and expressed sincere appreciation to the leaders, distinguished guests, and domestic and international scientists attending the conference. He emphasized that artificial intelligence is “revolutionizing” education, scientific research, and educational management, from idea generation and research design to data analysis and research dissemination, thereby requiring profound innovation in higher education institutions.
According to Dr. Phan Phien, the conference received 53 scientific papers from more than 100 researchers from universities and colleges in Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. Among them, 11 papers were selected for presentation, focusing on topics such as digital transformation; AI applications in education and scientific research for high-quality human resource development; the use of ChatGPT in academic management and research support at faculty and institute levels; intentions for AI technology transfer cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises in Khanh Hoa; AI applications in creative arts, design, and graphic education; and the use of AI-based software in teaching and learning at Khanh Hoa University. These contributions aim to strengthen international cooperation and enhance the quality of education and research in the context of digital transformation.

Delivering a keynote directive speech, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that AI has become a key driving force for transformative changes in education, science and technology, and urban development worldwide. He expressed his pleasure in attending the conference and extended his warm greetings and best wishes to all participants.
Mr. Nguyen Long Bien highlighted Khanh Hoa’s advantages in strategic location, socio-economic infrastructure, and young human resources, noting the province’s strong commitment to digital transformation and high-tech application to achieve the goal of becoming a centrally governed city by 2030. He highly appreciated the collaboration between Khanh Hoa University and Daegu National University of Education in organizing the conference and considered it an important academic forum for proposing solutions for AI applications in education and scientific research. He also encouraged the two universities to jointly develop AI training and capacity-building programs to serve the education sector and key development fields of the province in the coming years.

Representing the co-organizing institution, Prof. Bae Sang-Sik, President of Daegu National University of Education, expressed his honor in co-hosting the second international scientific conference with Khanh Hoa University on the theme of AI applications in education and research. He sincerely thanked the leadership and staff of Khanh Hoa University for their thorough preparation and emphasized that the conference serves as an important continuation following the success of the first jointly organized conference in 2024, marking the sustainable development of academic cooperation between the two universities.
Prof. Bae Sang-Sik affirmed that AI is fundamentally reshaping education and scientific research, creating new opportunities for personalized learning, pedagogical innovation, and enhanced research efficiency. Building on the established partnership, DNUE expressed its desire to further expand cooperation with Khanh Hoa University through joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, and international initiatives, thereby making meaningful contributions to the development of education and science in the AI era.

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Dinh Loc, Vice President of Khanh Hoa University, delivered the thematic introduction and outlined key discussion orientations. The working sessions focused on trends, models, and solutions for applying AI in education, scientific research, and educational management, contributing to improving human resource quality amid digital transformation and international integration.
The International Scientific Conference on “Applications of AI in Education and Scientific Research” marked an important milestone in Khanh Hoa University’s international cooperation activities, reaffirming its role within Vietnam’s higher education system and making a practical contribution to the development of science, technology, and education in Khanh Hoa Province in the new phase.
